Fixes for the most common Bnine problems

My advance isn't showing

The usual causes are a first paycheck that hasn't arrived yet, less than $100 in payroll or benefits deposits in the last 14 days, or an earlier advance that is still unpaid. B9 also says money moved into your account outside your paycheck does not count as a payroll deposit. See our step-by-step guide: Bnine advance not available.

My direct deposit hasn't arrived

Confirm with your employer or benefits provider that the routing and account numbers match the ones shown in the B9 app, and check which pay date the change takes effect. Payroll changes often take one or two pay cycles.

A deposit was taken to repay my advance

This is how B9 works: any deposit into your B9 account goes toward an open advance first. If you think you were charged twice, email support with the dates and amounts.

My card is lost or I see a charge I don't recognize

Lock the card in the app, then contact B9 by phone during business hours or by email. A few users report transactions going through on a locked card, so report anything unusual immediately as unauthorized.

I was charged a membership fee

Membership is $9.99 a month for Basic or $19.99 a month for Premium, and B9 waives it if you direct-deposit $5,000 or more a month. If you expected a waiver, check your deposit total for the month before contacting support.

Tips for faster answers

  • Write from the email address on your B9 account.
  • Include the date, amount and a screenshot of the transaction.
  • Ask for a reference number and keep it.
  • Call early in the day; phone support closes at 6pm Pacific.

How to cancel a Bnine membership

Cancel from the membership or settings area of the B9 app, or ask support to cancel for you. Repay any open advance first. If you are moving your direct deposit away from B9, update it with your employer or benefits provider before your next payday so your pay isn't stranded. Prepaid Premium plans (three-month or yearly) may not be refundable, so check before you cancel.

Watch out for fake support

Only use the phone number and email above or the app itself. Never share your password or one-time codes with anyone who contacts you, even if they say they are from B9.

Escalating a complaint

For problems with banking services, B9 lists a complaints email for its bank partner, Evolve Bank & Trust. If support does not resolve a billing or account issue, you can also file a complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau at consumerfinance.gov/complaint.
