Does Bnine accept an ITIN?
Yes. B9 states that both an SSN and an ITIN are accepted to open a B9 account. That makes Bnine one of the few paycheck advance apps that openly advertises ITIN acceptance.
What an ITIN is
An Individual Taxpayer Identification Number is issued by the IRS to people who need to file U.S. taxes but aren't eligible for a Social Security number. You apply with IRS Form W-7. An ITIN that isn't used on a federal tax return for three consecutive years expires, so keep yours active by filing.
What ITIN holders get with Bnine
The rules are the same as for everyone else:
- A B9 account with the B9 Visa debit card, no minimum balance and no overdraft fees.
- Advances up to $250 on Basic ($9.99 a month) or up to $1,000 on Premium ($19.99 a month, or $6.99 a month billed yearly).
- No credit check and no interest on advances.
- Early direct deposit up to two days before payday.
- Membership waived with $5,000 or more in monthly direct deposits.
How to get started with an ITIN
- Download the official B9 app and choose to open an account with your ITIN.
- Verify your identity. Have your ITIN and personal details ready; the app may ask for identity documents.
- Set up direct deposit from your employer, gig platform or benefits provider into your B9 account.
- Wait for your first paycheck to be credited. You need at least $100 in payroll or benefits deposits within the last 14 days.
- Check your available advance in the app and cash out.
Things to know
- Only payroll and benefits count. Money added from other accounts doesn't unlock an advance.
- Repayment is automatic. Your next deposit into B9 repays the advance first.
- State rules still apply. Advances are not available in six states. See state availability.
- Starting limits are small. New users usually begin between $10 and $50.
Beware of scams targeting ITIN holders
Never pay anyone to "unlock" a Bnine account or advance, and never share your ITIN, login or one-time codes with someone who contacts you. Use only the official app and B9's published support channels, listed on our customer service page.
